It was a privilege to partner with Black Professionals in Life Sciences (BPLS) and host the impactful in-person and virtual event, The Menopause Divide, exploring how culture, data, and dialogue can reshape menopause care and access. A huge thank you to Amina Yesufu-Udechuku, co-founder of BPLS, for the partnership, and to our incredible panel: Jennifer HirstLavina Mehta MBE, Tonye WokomaSuki Balendra PhD, Jenny Carrington-Elson, Nina K., and Liz Carson for their openness, knowledge, and enthusiasm to advocate equity in women's health. The discussion shone a light on disparities in HRT access, from ethnicity and income to cultural taboos and healthcare system limitations, and the importance of radical listening and inclusive research design to ensure every woman’s experience is valued. At Lucid Group, we believe that health equity starts with understanding and representation. As Liz Carson shared, “Real-world data helps us see the gaps, but empathy and collaboration are what close them.” By combining real-world data, community collaboration, and empathy-led communication, we can help dismantle the barriers that leave too many women unsupported through menopause. Be sure to watch the highlight video below. #Menopause #HealthEquity #WomenInHealth #LucidGroup #PartnershipForChange #BPLS

The Menopause Divide: Closing the Equity Gap in Care. 🔥 19% of women receive HRT. White women: 23%. Black African, Caribbean, Indian & Chinese women: just 4%. This gap is unacceptable — and last week, 130+ change makers came together to address it; proving these conversations can’t wait. The session feedback says it all: “One of the most informative and powerful discussions I’ve attended in a long time.” In partnership with Lucid Group, we explored University of Oxford research revealing stark disparities in menopause care. The conversation was honest, challenging, and deeply necessary. What we uncovered: ✔ Barriers in ethnically diverse communities stem from cultural narratives, mistrust, and silence. ✔ Care can’t fit into a 10-minute GP slot — it needs time, training, and a holistic approach. ✔ Equity demands ‘Radical Listening’ and collaboration across organisations. Turning Insights into Action We’re proud to be able to turn insights into action following the event by supporting a grass-roots organisation, Black Women In Menopause (BWiM) Nina Kuypers through a BPLS grant, and are grateful to Intent Healthcare who generously offered pro-bono strategic support after hearing of the impactful work of BWiM. At BPLS, this is exactly why we do this work. Equity can only be built through cross-life-science collaboration, community partnership, and honest dialogue. The Menopause Divide is the first in the BPLS Health Equity Series, with a new topic launching in Autumn 2026. A huge thank you to Lucid Group for your partnership and to all of our incredibly inspiring panellists: Jenny Carrington-Elson MSc Lavina Mehta MBE Nina K. • Today were shining a light on Toni Batey, PowerPoint Lead at Lucid, who’s been part of the team for six years. With a background in fine art, creativity has always been central to Toni’s work and life. Whether exploring contemporary art at the Venice Biennale or out cycling, taking in the rhythm and detail of the world around her, she’s inspired by beauty, movement, and the world’s small details. For Toni, art and design aren’t just interests; they’re ways of seeing. At Lucid, that creative lens shows up in everything she does. Toni loves how teams come together to deliver for clients, especially during high-pressure projects like major pitches and RFPs. It’s in those moments, she says, that Lucid’s collaborative spirit shines most clearly with people from across the business coming together, sharing ideas, and lifting each other up to deliver something exceptional. What Toni loves most about her role is transforming the everyday into something extraordinary. Whether shaping a presentation or supporting creative teams, she takes pride in turning complex ideas into visually engaging work that creates meaningful change. That mix of artistry, focus, and teamwork fuels her approach and keeps her inspired to bring clarity and creativity to everything she helps deliver. #LucidSpotlight #LucidGroup #CreativeJourney #DesignInspiration

  • Standing Firm in Power and Pride: Reflections from Dru Simmons For Dru Simmons, Senior Medical Writer at Lucid Group, Black History Month is more than a moment on the calendar. It’s a moment to recognise the resilience and achievements that have helped shape our society today. As she reflects on the significance of this month, Dru explains: “Black History Month to me is an opportunity to pause, reflect, and celebrate the contributions that Black people have made and continue to make across every area of society. It’s a time to acknowledge the sacrifices of those who came before us, their courage, and their determination to open doors for future generations.”  As a medical writer, Dru sees storytelling as both a craft and a calling. “It’s about celebrating the power of voice and ensuring every story is heard, respected, and represented with dignity. Within Lucid, that aligns with our purpose of transforming lives because true transformation begins with empathy, understanding, and meeting each other where we are.” This year’s Black History Month theme, “Standing Firm in Power and Pride,” resonates deeply with Dru. “It’s about being grounded in who you are and where you come from, using that foundation to move through the world authentically and with purpose. My history as a Black woman in the UK and from the Caribbean shapes how I show up every day, both in my work and in life. It’s about honouring those who came before and building on their legacy.” For Dru, her greatest inspirations are close to home. “My parents are my role models. Both were first-generation migrants from the Caribbean who built a life in a country that wasn’t always welcoming. Their perseverance, continual learning, and service to others taught me to push forward, to keep learning, and to always use my work to help others.” That commitment to service is what drives Dru’s belief in equity in healthcare. “Health is a fundamental human right. Yet too often, it’s determined by your postcode, income, or ethnicity, and that’s wrong. Clear, inclusive communication plays a vital role in bridging those gaps. Words have power, they can educate, empower, and transform lives. And when healthcare is equitable, it not only saves lives, it restores dignity and trust.” Beyond Black History Month, Dru continues to stand firm in her purpose, mentoring others, amplifying underrepresented voices, and ensuring that the stories she helps tell always reflect the communities they aim to serve. “It’s about showing up authentically every single day. Bringing my full self, my heritage, my experiences, and my culture into what I do. Because when we do that, the work becomes richer, more meaningful, and more human.” At Lucid Group, we are proud to stand alongside Dru and all those who continue to stand firm in power and pride, not just in October, but every day of the year. #BlackHistoryMonth #LucidGroup #EquityInHealthcare #TransformingLives

  • 🧡 🎗️ World Psoriasis Day | 29 October 2025 🎗️ 💜 Today, we recognise World Psoriasis Day – a reminder of the vital link between psoriatic disease and comorbidities, captured in this year’s theme: “Understanding the Domino Effect.” It’s a message that resonates deeply with our mission to transform lives. At Lucid, we’re proud of our long-standing work in the psoriasis space and remain deeply committed to improving outcomes and access to life-transforming therapies that can reduce and mitigate the cumulative impact of the disease over time. For more than a decade, we’ve connected people living with psoriasis, the clinical community, and industry partners to deliver global, award-winning initiatives. A few highlights include: ✔️ Influencing the World Health Organization’s definition of psoriasis, helping to reshape global understanding of the disease and its far-reaching impact. ✔️ Leading educational programmes that reframed psoriasis as a chronic, immune-mediated condition affecting the whole body, driving a shift towards holistic management. ✔️ Bringing together patients and the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to highlight the full life-course burden of psoriasis and the importance of early, proactive intervention. ✔️ Supporting expert-led consensus efforts to define clear treatment goals, effective transition strategies, and future targets to enhance long-term outcomes.
