Today is #GivingTuesday, a day to turn kindness into action, and a reminder that no one should face hardship alone. Join us as we uplift Latino families across the country by fighting hunger, expanding essential services, and empowering local organizations that serve our communities every day. When you give, you're not just supporting a program; you’re standing beside a family, a student, an elder, or a new immigrant and helping them to find their way. Your support helps us build a future where every family has comfort, stability, and the opportunity we all deserve.

Happy Small Business Saturday! Today, we celebrate the Latino entrepreneurs whose vision, work ethic, and creativity power our communities, strengthen local economies, and brighten our neighborhoods. This fall, Hispanic Federation supported more than 500 entrepreneurs through skills-building workshops and our CRECER: Latino Business Expo, where over 200 business owners, elected officials, and community leaders came together to learn, connect, and build opportunities for the future. Latino-owned businesses are economic engines, and we’re proud to stand at the forefront of that work. Today and every day, we remain committed to investing in entrepreneurs who move our communities forward. Show your support: #ShopLocal, #ShopLatino, and give a shoutout in the comments to your favorite small business or entrepreneur!

This Thanksgiving, we pause to celebrate the heart of our community: the people, the families, and the neighbors who make nuestra comunidad vibrant and resilient. Let's give thanks to the connections we share, the support we offer one another, and the moments that bring us together. This holiday season, we’re reminded of the power of standing together. Whether we are supporting families through our food distribution, helping students thrive through CREAR Futuros, or empowering our community to navigate tough times, the work of Hispanic Federation is only meaningful because of the trust, collaboration, and dedication of YOU. We are deeply grateful to our partners, local leaders, staff, and community members for helping make lasting changes possible. From our hearts to yours, Happy Thanksgiving y Feliz Día de Acción de Gracias!

With food prices on the rise and many families facing difficult choices this holiday season, our team in Florida hit the ground in Orlando to bring relief and joy to senior citizens ahead of the holiday. Our team worked tirelessly delivering essential groceries to ensure that our community's elders have the support they need this holiday season. This is part of a larger effort to strengthen communities across 10 counties in Florida and ensure everyone has consistent access to healthy, nutritious food no matter the challenges. Our Florida State Director Laudi Campo, shared with Spectrum News why this kind of support is so critical and how it helps build stronger, more resilient communities. Big congratulations to our 2025 Hispanic Leadership Institute cohort on their graduation! Over the past eight weeks, 22 leaders from 17 Hispanic Federation member organizations have deepened their skills in nonprofit leadership and designed a capstone project to drive strategic change within their organization. The program provided space for reflecting, planning, and taking action that can address real-world challenges. Equally powerful was the community of practice built among peers, mentors, and facilitators. Thank you to the Fund for the City of New York and NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, Education, and Human Development for making this journey possible! We’re proud to invest in leaders who uplift our communities every day.

Overreaching immigration enforcement has led to families being scared to send their children to school. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg school district confirmed over 30k absences on Monday. In one weekend, Border Patrol detained more than 130 people. For many Latino families, schools are places for learning, safety and essential hubs for resources and support. Fear-driven enforcement disrupts that stability and directly harms students’ ability to learn. This is unacceptable! Lariza Garzon shares with Spectrum News: “We feel disappointed… because this is the moment when our community needs the most support—especially the children.”
