Cheers, London! Karat co-founder Jeffrey Spector and I were in the UK last week to host leaders from Deutsche Bank, JPMorganChase, Mastercard, Amazon, Summit Partners, and more for a preview of our upcoming survey of 400+ CIOs and CTOs from the U.S., China and India about how AI is transforming enterprise workforces. Two themes stood out as these leaders shared what they’re thinking about going into 2026: 1. The importance of having a true standard for evaluating and upleveling contractors: Contractors make up an incredibly important part of global engineering workforces, yet the bar for evaluating them is often ill-defined and fragmented. Companies who implement a standard that matches how they assess full-time engineers are the most successful in ensuring consistency and quality across their entire organization. 2️. Products that account for regulatory, compliance, and risk considerations are no longer optional: The regulatory complexity of the banking sector, in particular, cannot be understated. Given how critical it is to the world’s economy, companies who build products that support the unique needs of this sector will be foundational to helping it recognize the full potential of the Human + AI era. We then turned our attention to another key moment coming up in 2026… the FIFA World Cup! Fantastic to watch England and Serbia go head-to-head in one of the final qualifier matches before next year’s big game. A special shoutout to our co-host Ross Mason – investor, advisor, friend, and more to Karat. His lessons from scaling MuleSoft have been invaluable and now that he’s actively investing in AI companies, it’s been powerful to trade notes on where the industry is heading and how we can continue to build with intention.
