I’m grateful to be part of the 2025 Knapheide Internship Program. Every individual I’ve met has been amazing, and I’m especially thankful to join as a Continuous Improvement intern, a role that directly connects to my master’s program. Studying lean methodologies like 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and Kanban in class, then seeing them applied in an industrial setting firsthand, has been an incredible experience. My manager, Cole, has been an outstanding mentor. I value the balance of autonomy he gives us to own our tasks while always being ready to support when needed. I’ve also been inspired by Knapheide’s culture. Their philosophy of “Never Settle” is reflected in the quality of every product they make. Many employees I’ve spoken with have been with the company for decades, which speaks volumes about the healthy and supportive environment. The HR team has made the internship program truly impactful, with events such as: - VP Panel with five VPs, where we could ask candid questions. - Networking Session with 20+ employees across departments. - Three-day weld training event. - Volunteering at Horizons Soup Kitchen. I look forward to contributing more during the rest of my internship at Knapheide.

As my internship as a Manufacturing and Facilities Engineer for Knapheide wrapped up this past week, I am proud to reflect on all of the amazing experiences and growth I have had these past months. While working for Tyler Marquess, I had limitless opportunities to truly make a difference at Knapheide. I was given two main projects- the Northeast Expansion in Quincy, ll. and assisting in managing the development of multiple new Knapheide Truck Equipment Centers around the country. One of my favorite highlights was managing several key projects for the NE Expansion. This mainly included managing multiple contractors and equipment installs. I had the opportunity to lead some of the weekly touch point meetings and managed daily progress reports. I also was given the task of implementing a new automated floor sweeper! I am incredibly grateful for the mentorship and support from my team. It is truly amazing what you can accomplish with a dedicated boss and helpful team. Everyone truly wanted to see me succeed. I could not have been more lucky to be a part of a group like this, and cannot wait to stay on part time this fall!
