Our hats are off to these five kind dental students –– Ana Gabriela Jimenez, Rut Estrella, Jacob B. Parker, Diana Florencio, and Yasmine Shah –– all from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine! They volunteered for a day at Women's Lunch Place, helping our guests by providing dental hygiene advice and tooth care kits. Their smiles say it all! And thanks to them, our community is smiling a little brighter too.

With food insecurity rising sharply across Massachusetts, Women’s Lunch Place is proud to partner with The Boston Foundation through their Meeting the Moment: Sustaining Families initiative! TBF is leading a coordinated, full-system response to the hunger crisis—listening to the community, following research, convening partners, advocating for systems change, and mobilizing donors. We are grateful to be part of the collective effort to strengthen the safety net for our city. At Women’s Lunch Place, we're addressing food insecurity every day. The women who come through our doors are experiencing homelessness, hunger, and poverty, often without access to a kitchen or a safe place to store food. Thanks to partners like TBF, our Healthy Meals Program provides three nutritious meals a day, ensuring women have the nourishment they need to stabilize, heal, and move toward long-term housing and wellbeing. WLP is also a SNAP Outreach partner, helping guests certify, recertify, and maximize their benefits through individualized case management—critical support at a time when changes to SNAP have placed thousands of families at risk. We will continue to work with The Boston Foundation to protect essential community institutions and build a more stronger, more equitable food system for everyone in Massachusetts. Thank you, TBF!

“You know Cheers? The place where everybody knows your name?” Debbie said. “That’s what the Lunch Place is. Everybody knows your name.” We're honored to have been featured in Boston Globe Media for a story on the success of our shelter-to-housing program and the renewed funding from Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities, adding 65 women's shelter beds in Boston! Women’s Lunch Place and the Neighborhood Association of the Back Bay (NABB) recently had the pleasure of gathering our supporters for the 2025 Harvest Festival & Auction—a warm, joyful, and truly successful evening. From local wines and seasonal dishes to holiday shopping in our silent auction and a stunning gallery of guest-created art, every part of the night celebrated community and compassion. Together with NABB, we gathered neighbors who share a commitment to supporting Boston’s most vulnerable women. Our CEO, Jennifer Hanlon Wigon, shared why this night matters: “The funds raised at the Harvest Festival help sustain our daily work—keeping our doors open and our Advocates available to address the specific obstacles each woman may be facing in her path toward stability. Support from our neighbors keeps our meals cooking, and our services available for our vulnerable guests. Friendships like the one we share with NABB make a real and tangible difference for the women we serve.” Thank you to everyone who attended, bid, supported, or spread the word. Your generosity strengthens both of our organizations—WLP and NABB—and ensures that critical resources, warm meals, and pathways to housing remain available for more than 2,300 women each year. We're thrilled to announce a major step forward for women's housing in Boston. Women’s Lunch Place has received a grant from the state's Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities to expand our overnight shelter-to-housing program from 50 to 65 women this winter. These 65 beds will add 20% more shelter capacity for women in the city! Our project's innovative model provides each woman with a private room, one-on-one case management, and personalized support to rebuild stability. So far, 55 women have participated, and 13 have already moved into permanent homes of their own. Thank you to our partners and supporters for believing in a pathway to safety, healing, and home. Together, we’re opening doors for more women in Boston than ever before.

We are sending a huge thank you to Brad LeBlanc, Aaron Yu, Patrick Lynch, Maura McKinnon, and Michaela Edwards, who coordinated two phenomenal volunteer teams from PwC and Liberty Mutual Insurance! Dozens of employees rolled up their sleeves and jumped right in at Women's Lunch Place: preparing meals in our kitchen, decorating cookies to add a little joy to lunch service, writing heartfelt notes for our guests, and assembling toiletry kits. When corporate partners step beyond sponsorship and step into service, something powerful happens. They help us create a warm, dignified, and welcoming space for women who deserve nothing less. Thank you, PwC and Liberty Mutual, for your generosity and your hands-on commitment to our mission. We are grateful to be in this work together!

🏘️ Turning connections into keys 🔑 Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 5th Annual Landlord Fair, hosted at Women’s Lunch Place in partnership with NEW LEASE FOR HOMELESS FAMILIES INC and the City of Boston Mayor’s Office of Housing. This year’s fair brought together local landlords, housing advocates, and program participants—all working toward one shared goal: expanding access to safe, stable housing for potential renters moving out of homelessness. Dozens of property owners showcased available units and utilized the Landlord Incentive Program, which offers signing bonuses, holding fees, and ongoing support. Each conversation and connection made helps us move closer to a Boston where every woman has a place to call home.

This year’s Spaghetti Dinner raised over $725,000, the highest total in Women’s Lunch Place’s 43-year history! Thanks to our incredible community, these funds will help expand our Housing & Stabilization Program and sustain our day-to-day shelter operations, providing safety, stability, and hope for women experiencing homelessness and poverty. The energy in the room was electric. You can see it in the photos (credit: Keiko Hiromi) and it was palpable during the heartfelt speeches by Jennifer Hanlon Wigon, Chef Inna Khitrik, and Theresa Rolley. We’re celebrating this record-breaking milestone while looking ahead with renewed purpose. Together, we’re transforming women’s lives — and this is just the beginning.
