Episode 46: Soft skills will always win. Everyone’s asking if AI will replace us. The truth? AI is already exposing the one skillset that will decide who thrives and who struggles. . Watch the video below and let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

If I had to bet on just one soft skill that becomes mission critical in an AI driven workplace… it’s storytelling. Data and stats can persuade, but only stories inspire action.

Hi Dima Godfrey I do enjoy your series and I think you make some valid points but I would say the relationship is a touch more nuanced- 💯 we need to double down on the human skills of negotiation and storytelling and relationship building. The relationship can be more collaborative than either / or however, there is the intersection of domain expertise and a deep working knowledge of different LLMs that super charges users. A huge challenge with ROI on gen AI productivity is that if you take a singular workflow we will change between repetitive “toil” tasks (easy to replace) with higher value reasoning and decisioning which can be prompted but not replaced / perhaps sped up. When we look at the future state that is where it gets interesting in terms of human impact mapping of Gen AI and how job descriptions, entry level skill set expectations etc will be indelibly shaped by this technology for sure

Most definitely what you said is correct, AI can help with the technical stuff, still how best we use it and present it will and shall depend on us. Empathy, negotiation, decision making and most of all making sense of what AI provides and how best we adapt to the changing environments is something uniquely inherent to us...

Couldn’t agree more, great points!

Indeed ! Soft skills are more important than ever in today’s AI context.

Dima Godfrey My bet is on soft skills like understanding nuances, reading the room, and sound decision-making.

Great video Dima. Food for for thought.

When I was growing up, there was a quote which said "In the 20th century, the uneducated, isn't someone who couldn't read or write, it was someone who couldn’t learn, unlearn, and relearn." Today I say "In the 21st, there will be clear distinction between those who can and those who can’t adapt, question, create and leverage with AI" Excellent post, love it Mr. AI!
