The latest edition of this closely followed annual report offers a number of helpful insights into today’s cloud marketplace, including these facts.

  • Public cloud spend is increasing, p. 15.  This finding tracks with TierPoint’s own experience. Year-to-date, we’ve set records for the best month (March), quarter (Q1), trailing six months, and trailing 12 months since launching our public cloud practice in mid-2022.
  • 60% of companies use an MSP for managing some or most of their public cloud usage, p. 34.
  • Managing cloud spend was the #1 challenge for both enterprise and SMB respondents to the survey, followed by security, p. 38.
  • With spend management topping the list of cloud challenges, it should be no surprise that Financial Operations (FinOps) managers are more actively involved in cloud buying. To illustrate: 13% of survey respondents were from FinOps in the latest report, up from 5% in the prior report, p. 84. And Flexera expects this representation to further increase in the future.
