Survitec Group Ltd. has launched its next-generation high-expansion foam fire suppression system, designed to deliver greater foam output at lower operating pressures.
According to the company, the new system reduces both installation and through-life costs for shipyards and shipowners.
The development centres on a redesigned generator that produces higher volumes of foam at significantly lower feed pressures.
FPA partners with Consort Insurance to enhance risk management
The The Fire Protection Association (FPA) has announced a partnership with Consort Insurance , part of the Specialist Risk Group, to support members with professional indemnity and risk management challenges.
The organisation said the agreement marks a further step in its role as the UK’s national fire safety body, offering members access to tailored insurance insights and specialist guidance.
According to the FPA, the partnership will strengthen its existing membership support network by helping professionals understand their rights, improve insurance coverage, and make informed decisions in a complex market.
Wetherby Wall Systems introduces new retrofit solution
Wetherby Wall Systems has launched InteriA, a new Internal Wall Insulation (IWI) system designed to provide A-rated, moisture-open retrofit solutions for solid wall buildings in the UK.
The company, part of the ROCKWOOL Group, confirmed that InteriA was developed in response to growing demand for insulation systems that combine strong fire performance with effective moisture management.
The launch took place earlier this week and marks the latest addition to Wetherby’s retrofit portfolio.
OroraTech and TracPlus unite to improve wildfire situational awareness
TracPlus and OroraTech have announced a two-way data integration that combines aircraft tracking, drop event intelligence and satellite-derived fire perimeter data to support faster wildfire response decisions.
According to both companies, the integration links TracPlus’ live aircraft tracking and drop event data with OroraTech’s space-based wildfire perimeter insights in real time.
The companies said the joint capability will allow fire commanders to view aircraft operations and active fire zones simultaneously, creating a shared operational picture for both ground and aerial units.

The The Fire Protection Association (FPA) has announced a new partnership with FDM to provide fire safety training courses and qualification pathways across their UK sites.
The collaboration follows the FPA’s earlier announcement of its new Training and Education Centre (TEC) in Oxfordshire, which is set to open in January 2026.
According to the FPA, the TEC will offer learners an authentic and practical training environment supported by several industry partners, including FDM.
Fire safety leader BB7 enters new phase under Certania after BGF exit
During its partnership with BGF, BB7 expanded into the UK’s largest specialist consultancy in fire and façade engineering. The growth capital investment supported BB7’s buy-and-build strategy, including the acquisitions of Omega Fire in Manchester and Goldsmith Engineering in Ireland.
According to BGF, the exit generated a three-times money multiple return and a 21% internal rate of return (IRR).

Government updates progress on Grenfell recommendations
The UK Government has published its second quarterly progress report on implementing the recommendations from the Grenfell Tower Inquiry.
The report confirms completion of two further Phase 1 recommendations concerning Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs) for high-rise residential buildings. According to the Government, all 58 Phase 2 recommendations have been accepted, with full implementation expected to take at least four years due to legislative requirements.
Officials said the new progress report includes an implementation timeline outlining expected completion dates for each recommendation.
What many teams miss about gas detectors on short-term sites
CROWCON DETECTION INSTRUMENTS LIMITED has warned that temporary and mobile worksites are often neglected when it comes to gas detection, leaving workers exposed to invisible hazards.
The company said that such sites, which include refinery turnarounds and short-term construction projects, frequently lack adequate gas safety systems.
According to Crowcon, data from 2015 to 2020 shows that temporary worksites across the UK accounted for 11 deaths and more than 130 injuries.
