Yesterday I had the pleasure of driving to Maysville, KY for a project submission. The charm of this small river town was a pleasant surprise. The town is clean, with pedestrian walks and roadways, flower boxes and decorative light poles. The cross streets offer rustic brick roads, fountains, swings and lots of charming shops. The height of the buildings and widths of roadways gives this town a very inviting scale that makes you feel comfortable. As a kid I drove past this exit numerous times but never made it down to the town itself. If you're in Northeast Ky and driving past Maysville, pop over the hill and check it out. You won't regret it! Oh, and I had to include a pick of some Big Blue UK Pride I encountered on the drive back! Always a pleasure to stroll down Forbes Avenue in Pittsburgh. Forbes serves as the vibrant 'Main Street' linking Pitt and Carnegie Mellon, two neighboring campuses active with returning students this week! I had the opportunity to find a little free time and get some updated pics of our Complete Street work, executed over a couple different efforts that included both street design / engineering as well as campus development master planning right in the heart of the CMU Campus near Gesling Stadium. This was my office for the day until the afternoon rains came, artistically placing boulders at Riverfront Plaza Park in downtown Jacksonville.

Exciting catch-up with a former colleague in Clermont! Back in 2015, our GAI Community Solutions Group spearheaded a transformative Downtown & Waterfront master plan. This initiative led to the development of cutting-edge downtown streets, shared use streets, trails, and the remarkable Victory Point environmental/Stormwater park. Fast forward to today, most of these projects were completed just in time for the challenges brought about by COVID. Subsequently, downtown Clermont has witnessed a wave of impressive new investments, including the construction of new buildings and the commencement of a mixed-use project on the former pole barn site adjacent to the wetland park. The evolution continues, shaping a vibrant future for the area.
