Our entire GWERC team wishes to thank ALL the fantastic professionals who came out to the U.S. Navy Memorial in DC, April 10th, to gather and gaggle about our crazy world of global mobility! Our panelists were prepared and offered earnest insight on the impacts of current "climate of uncertainty". Here were a couple of key notes: ⁉️ Uncertainty is introducing added layers of costs, to ensure vetting ℹ️ Identify trusted sources of information to guide action; balancing information without causing alarm to those in the process 🔍 Ensure awareness of protocols to support employees in other countries 🧾 Know the new I-9 policies! 🌐 Pay attention to geopolitical impacts - Red Sea challenges still present, Panama Canal drought impacting access, Gemini Alliance may reshape global shipping/trade 🛳️ De Minimus Provision will go into effect May 9, affecting inbound cargo 🧠 Know by whom & how AI is being used in your organization; protect your data! On "What makes a Successful Move?" posed by our Corporate Liaison, Alice Terry, GMS-T, MBA, our esteemed corporate panelists offered: --> Joana Ferreira de Carvalho: "Communication, that builds trust!" --> Peter Bowsher, RIM, GMS®: "Setting expectations correctly!" --> Elena Anderson: "Retention - If the employee "stays" is the ultimate measure!"
