Towards supporting the underprivileged, creating opportunities, and striving towards a more equitable society.

About us

Since 1996, Infosys Foundation has been trying to make communities and individuals stand on their feet. From helping communities affected by natural disasters, constructing toilets and building libraries for village schools, providing succor to Devadasi women, to donating funds for cancer treatment, scientific research and mid-day meals – if there is a worthy cause in sight, the Foundation is always there to support it. We take great pride in working with all sections of society, selecting projects with infinite care, and working in areas that traditionally overlooked by society at large. With a focus on the most remote regions of India, our initiatives span the areas of education, healthcare, women empowerment, and environmental sustainability, amongst others.

  • Did you know? India’s Female Labour Force Participation Rate has surged from 32.8% in 2022 to 37% in 2023? And the maternal mortality has dropped from 130 to 93, per lakh live births? These numbers tell a story of progress, but they also remind us that more needs to be done. Inderpreet Sawhney, Trustee, #InfosysFoundation, underscores the need to make education and healthcare accessible to marginalized women. Through the Women in Technology program, powered by Infosys Springboard, our flagship learning platform, we trained female graduates in technical and soft skills across 13 locations in India. The result? 6,000 women trained and 4,000 placed in diverse sectors. When PGIMER envisioned the 300-bed Advanced Mother and Child Centre (AMCC) Phase-1, we partnered to equip it with advanced technology. This center will nearly double PGIMER’s capacity, serving 25,000 high-risk mothers and newborns annually and saving 12,000 lives every year. PGIMER also provides free investigations for patients below the poverty line and free diagnostics and treatment for expectant mothers and children up to one year of age. Each initiative shares one goal: to help every woman write her own future, uplift her family, and unlock her next opportunity. #InfosysCSR | #MaternalCare | #WomenEmpowerment | #Healthcare

  • In a recent Times of India article titled “Yakshagana artistes find strength in community,” Infosys Foundation was recognized for its commitment to keeping the vibrant art form of coastal Karnataka alive. Yakshagana, with its mesmerizing dance, elaborate costumes, and rich storytelling, has seen its artists face economic challenges in recent years, leaving them struggling to sustain their craft. To address this, #InfosysFoundation partnered with Yakshagana Kalaranga, an institute dedicated to promoting and nurturing this tradition. Together, we have supported initiatives that spark interest among youth, provide research and training, and offer scholarships to talented students. Kalaranga organizes over 20 performances annually, conducts seminars and workshops, and runs training programs in 46 schools across Udupi. Its wing, Vidya Poshak, has been empowering students since 2005 through scholarships, book banks, and development camps - benefiting over 1,000 students this year alone. Furthering these efforts, we helped build the Infosys Foundation Yakshagana Development, Training and Research Centre - a 30,000 sq. ft. space with an auditorium, classrooms, a museum, and more. This center is a safe haven where heritage meets opportunity. We hope that this timeless art form will continue to inspire generations. #InfosysCSR | #Art | #Culture | #Yakshagana

  • In a recent Hindustan Times article, “The Broken Promise of India’s Heritage,” #InfosysFoundation was recognized for its efforts in conserving cultural sites. For us, heritage is about keeping traditions alive and ensuring they remain accessible to everyone. Guided by this belief, we have restored historic landmarks and created experiences that reconnect communities with their roots. The 8th–10th century Bateshwar temples in Madhya Pradesh, once forgotten, now welcome over 40,000 visitors annually. In Karnataka, the revived Someshwara Archaeological Complex hosted Puligere Utsav, where local artists showcased traditional dance, music, and crafts - bringing history to life through culture. Our commitment also extends to sustainability. Our efforts to restore the stepwells at Lingampet, Rashtrapati Nilayam, and Mah Laqa Chanda Bai blend age-old architecture with traditional water systems, ensuring water security, rejuvenating aquifers, and creating vibrant public spaces. These initiatives benefit lakhs of people, turning heritage into a source of life. Every stone restored, every aquifer revived, and every cultural event celebrated reflects a promise: history and communities can thrive together.
