  • 🏔️ remove strategy meet-up - Swiss mountains edition! This year, our team traded city streets for snow-covered peaks and sustainable lodging. We carved out rare, uninterrupted time to reflect on our progress to date, connect more deeply as a team and align on the impact we want to create in the coming years. Our strategy sprint focused on deepening our work in the geographies we are serving today and laying the foundations for our next chapter. With a clear roadmap of our upcoming impact milestones, we left feeling energized about the exciting things we have planned. Nature had a plan for us too: two days of heavy snowfall - which prompted a spontaneous snowshoe hike through untouched powder. We can't wait to share more about what's in store for us at remove! (Stay tuned! 👀)

  • Last week, our Managing Director Hans was at Carbon Unbound Europe. And... it was great as usual. We're always excited to engage in communities with a shared commitment to scale carbon removal. The energy and passion of CDR founders never fails to impress us. It was great to bump into so many familiar faces and meet a bunch of new ones in person. As the team at Carbon Unbound put it: Two days, dozens of sessions, and hundreds of changemakers later, the takeaways are clear: Europe is stepping up, collaboration is accelerating, and the future of carbon removal is being built right now. Until next time! Chantal Spit, Oliver Katz, Joana Rousseau

  • 🇩🇪 Showcasing carbon removal in action across Germany Over two exciting days last week, the CDR Experience Tour brought together 60 participants from politics, business, research, and media to visit pioneering carbon dioxide removal projects across Germany and to see CDR in action. Organized by Deutscher Verband für negative Emissionen e.V. (DVNE) and remove, the tour featured site visits to leading innovators: 🌿 VIVO Carbon – Agroforestry systems 🪨 ZeroEx – Enhanced rock weathering 🔥 RWE – BECCS from sewage sludge 🌫️ Greenlyte Carbon Technologies – Direct air capture 🌱 Pyreg – Biochar production ⚪ Lhoist, Air Liquide & OGE – Exploring negative emissions and CO₂ transport solutions The key takeaway? CDR works and Germany is already leading the way. From nature-based to engineered methods, carbon removal is emerging as both a climate necessity and a driver of innovation, growth and green jobs. It was great to see everyone’s engagement - right there, at CDR sites - speaking directly to those removing carbon. A big thank you to Stiftung Mercator GmbH for their generous support, and to all participants and hosts for making this an inspiring journey.

  • 🎉 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗥𝗳𝗣 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗗𝗥 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 🎉 At remove, we're all about helping our startups thrive in the CDR market and that includes opening doors to procurement opportunities! For the last couple of years, we have been co-developing RfPs with mission-aligned partners for CDR purchases exclusively for and from remove startups and alumni. This time, we teamed up with VP Capital to make some magic happen! ✨ VP Capital is committed to accelerating positive impact. And they recognize the necessity, feel the responsibility, and believe in the opportunities that sustainable progress offers to make a positive impact. They enable this progress, by contributing to much-needed solutions, both on an ecological and societal level. Our team helped VP Capital develop a contribution claim strategy, design a great RfP, and manage applications from our startups based in the Global South. The focus? High-impact, scalable, verifiable CDR solutions that deliver real co-benefits for communities and ecosystems. After rigorous evaluations and interviews over the last few months, VP Capital has finalized their decision. With that, we're thrilled to announce that three startups from our community have been selected as the winners of this RfP. 🚀 👏 Huge congrats to:  • Tivano pioneering biomass burial in Namibia  • VERMIFAM LTD: Bugesera Worm Farm and Vermicomposting Production Initiative creating impact with biochar in Rwanda  • UrjanovaC Pvt Ltd scaling up DAC technology in India This is one of the various ways we strive to continue supporting our startups long after they complete our programs. Special thanks to Mark Schravesande and his team from VP Capital for making this possible. Are you interested in taking climate action and running a similar process for our fantastic portfolio of teams? Drop us a line at info@remove.global

  • 🇩🇪 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 At remove, our fundamental theory of change is that in order for stakeholders to really become active in CDR, they need to see it to believe it. Germany is in a unique position to become a pioneer in Europe’s growing CDR ecosystem and to spotlight this potential, Deutscher Verband für negative Emissionen e.V. (DVNE) and remove have organized The CDR Experience Tour taking place on October 30 & 31, 2025. This two-day experience brings together individuals from politics, business, research, and media. We will be visiting leading CDR projects across the country showing a range of carbon removal approaches. Stops on the tour include Greenlyte Carbon Technologies (DAC), VIVO Carbon gemeinnützige GmbH (Afforestation), RWE (BECCS), ZeroEx (ERW), and Pyreg (Biochar CDR). Thank you to Stiftung Mercator GmbH for their generous support to make this event happen. Stay tuned for more updates! #carbonremoval #CDR #climatetech
